Workplace Road Safety Services for Businesses & Organisations
Workplace Road Safety is the division of the TTC Group dedicated to delivering DriverProtect®, TTC’s end-to-end managed service committed to minimising workplace road safety risk and optimising driver-related performance within businesses and organisations.
Businesses and organisations choose to work with TTC as they not only recognise the value of having an expert resource to manage their workplace driver-related risk, but also the benefit of working with an organisation that can help them mitigate the risks by delivering driver assessments and training.
TTC encourages businesses and organisations to be proactive when it comes to managing workplace road safety, rather than waiting for a road-related incident that has a serious negative impact on the business.
Often businesses and organisations have robust polices in place for employees with company cars, however, all too often businesses ignore the many risks associated with their ‘grey fleet’ – simply defined as any vehicle that is used by an employee for making a work-related journey.
Overlooking the ‘grey fleet’ is a real risk as business and organisation leaders have a legal duty of care to employees, regardless of vehicle ownership so the ‘grey fleet’ needs to be managed either internally or by an expert such as TTC. Therefore, even though the vehicle is not owned by the company or organisation, checks still need to be carried out including:
- Driving Licence Checks – to ensure the driver has a valid driving licence for the vehicle being driven
- Tyre and maintenance schedules, vehicle MOT etc – to ensure the vehicle is safe to complete the business-related journey
- Vehicle Insurance – to ensure the driver has upgraded their vehicle from social and domestic usage to include business travel
The above needs to be checked but also verified with appropriate enquiries to the DVLA and paperwork from the driver.
