Testimonials

The relationship with TTC kick-started with the introduction of its pioneering 40-point Risk Assessment for every employee driving on behalf of NLB. This identified potential risky driving behaviour and knowledge gaps, enabling us to provide eLearning based on the needs of individual employees. We are fully committed to this approach with drivers repeating the assessment every 24 months. In addition to ticking the compliance and risk assessment boxes, TTC’s training supports NLB drivers with relevant training courses. This provides a holistic approach to keeping our drivers safe at all times.

NLB driver courses

Lynne Armstrong. Human Resources Manager at The Northern Lighthouse Board

TTC has developed and delivered a rolling programme of training tailored to the needs of the council’s 360-strong vocational driver workforce. To date, more than 8,000 hours of periodic training has been attended either in-person or online. The programme consists of a mix of ‘off-the-shelf’ courses from TTC’s extensive DVSA approved course offering, and a bespoke periodic training course created by TTC specifically and exclusively for the council. The council is delighted with the consistently high level of service provided, working in partnership with TTC to meet the periodic training requirements of its driver workforce.

By working with TTC we have further streamlined our stringent compliance measures and benefit from additional risk management via Continuum’s Permit to Drive portal. Centralised governance is a key theme for us and having an up-to-the-minute overview of our commercial driver pool ensures that we remain on the front-foot in managing compliance.

Mark Forster, Policy & Engagement Manager, Biffa

Since the 40-point risk assessment and training interventions were introduced for all drivers, no NLB driver has incurred any new points on their driving licence. Overall, the partnership with TTC has been a significant step-change in how NLB today manages driver risk and improves safety for the benefit of our employees and those they serve.

Trish Donaldson, Compliance Officer at The Northern Lighthouse Board

The course was exceptional, well run in terms of delivery of information, IT online course but seamless. Very interesting examples of temporary works failures applicable to the businesses we worked in. Break out activities / group examples worked very well and were again well managed by the trainer. Fantastic course, I will recommend to others! Best course I have attended in years!

CITB Temporary Works Co-Ordinator, Black & Veatch

The trainers knowledge was excellent and I liked his examples and how he could relate them to every day relatable examples that we could all understand. Coming from different industries and sectors his examples were a common ground. It was handled very well virtually and the engagement worked with his questioning and answering

The Pension Regulator

This was one of the best CDM courses I have been on, I feel I came away better equipped to find the information I need within the regulations when I need it in the future rather than being overwhelmed by information presented on the course itself. This course gave me the opportunity to think about and discuss how the regulations relate to the issues I’m currently facing. The trainers presentation style was very engaging, all her examples were very relevant and interesting and the course flew by!
